Rain is such a foreign concept to them, they decide as they perch on a once-warm rock and stare up at the dark, crying sky and ignore how the cold drops of water land in their eyes and give them tears as well. They’re soaked to the bone; fur flat and lifeless, exposing their willowy build. There’s a reason they avoid swimming, they don’t like how they appear with flat fur. It makes them feel weak and far too exposed. In a way, the rain also reminds them of their mother. Her embrace was warm and full of comfort, and the rain is a cold contrast to that but the way it makes their fur cling down and to their skin isn’t unlike Paledew’s belly fur. It’s surrounding and everywhere at the moment, and despite their shivers they feel content. When they were small they would curl up at their mother’s stomach and hide until their father or Peachjaw coaxed them out to play.
